My biggest love about books is that I read about other people. I love almost all book types though am a little iffy about horror triller books.

Cinder - Marissa Meyer

Well it seems that I got bite by the Luna Chronicles bug that seems to have gotten to everyone. And am okay with that. Cinder is my first fairy tale re-telling and am glad that I started with the Luna Chronicles series. Marissa Meyers shows how to take a tale that everyone who grew up watching Cinderella with a new twist. Like how its not a regular girl but a cyborg, or that its not in a fairyland but in a futurist New Beijing. Also it's not about girl meets guy and falls in love, but have real problems.

The Story: In Commonwealth the people are suffering from a plague that is killing them faster then they can figure out where its coming from or how to cure it. Its interesting that Meyer Marissa made New Beijing into a futurist world where technology pretty much rule everything. There is some similarities in the both stories but even those have a difference in it. Case in point there is still the stepmother and sisters. However in this spin Cinder became a legal guardian to the father after a trip to Africa. Or that the youngest sister Peony is actual nice to Cinder. Its things like that that makes the story different and not the same.

The Characters: One thing I enjoyed is that we saw the prince more in this book then we every did in the Cinderella. Not only that but you see things in his point of view. Prince Kia has so much things to deal with at such a young age, but he's all for the people like he should be. I enjoyed Cinder and how she doesn't fall right for Prince Kia. It was a lot like a cat and mouse chase between them more her than him. But Cinder also showed her insecure about being part cyborg and tries to hide it. Loved Iko best for she had one of the corkys personalities I've read a book in awhile.

Villian: Of course goes to Queen Levana because no one can top her in craziness. I love how she was so proud that on the moon none of her people does raids. Will no crap you can control them to think anything you want. How scary is that plus the fact you don't know what her face looks like thanks to glamours. She one crazy bitch with a capital B and she just calls it politics.

I fell like I've gushed enough and its time to start Scarlet to see what happened after a ending like that.

Born at Midnight

Born at Midnight - C.C. Hunter

Author: c.c hunter

series: Shadow Falls #1

Page Count: 398

Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin (2011)

Source: Paperback

This amazing series is about a girl name Kylie Galen who goes though a lot to try to, and figure out what she is. In this first book Kylie goes though a lot of stuff that she has to come to terms with, and except. Like her parents divorce, her best friends partying ways, knowing that she's is not 100% human, that she has a ghost following her. And to top it off being at Shadow Falls and not really fitting in anywhere.

Born at Midnight is such a gripping book for the fact you want to know what Kylie is and if she's a a fairy, werewolf, vampire, witch or even a shapeshifters. I will say these though Kylie can be annoying at times when she's trying to decide what to do in certain things. Like the love triangle between Luke the werewolf and old friend from the neighborhood or Derek the half Fae who can read her emotions like a open book. In Born in Midnight its more about Derek and her up and down relationship. I don't know how I feel about the love triangle just yet or who I would rather her be with, I believe she has enough on her plate to be pushed into a relationship but that's just me.

Other awesome characters are pretty much all of them my favortie is Della the vampire roommate of Kylie. These doesn't mean I don't love the other characters because I do all of them are a whole lot of fun and bring relief and drama when they show up. If you can't tell i love this book and though it took me awhile to get this series this is one of my top favorites of 2014.

Rot & Ruin

Rot and Ruin - Jonathan Maberry

this became one of my favorite book thanks to one character and that is Tom Imura, the main character Benny's big brother. Yes I enjoyed Benny as well not at first because he was a very angry young man. However when his brother takes him out into the ruin has changed his thoughts change about the zom's and his brother as well. This book has all the characters grow up one way or another in a world where zombies and bounty hunter roam.

Series: book 1 in Benny Imura series

Format: Hardcover

Page count: 458

The whole series

Rebel Belle

Rebel Belle - Rachel Hawkins

Everyone loves this book and I'll admit it had its moments however those moments didn't make up for Harper. She just bugged me so much as a character and is to much of southern belle for my taste I guess. Also for someone who was in all these clubs and so smart you would think she would pick up on things more quickly, and not at the last second. I wanted to enjoy this book I really did but I mostly wanted to shake Harper then anything else.

Gone - Michael Grant

I have been wanting to read this book and can't to know what the buzz about around this series.

City of Bones - Cassandra Clare

Even though I struggled through this book at parts I do see why so many people like this book. I also see why some don't even finish the series. however with how City of bones ended I need to read the second book. It's not like there was a cliffhanger because there isn't. It's just that the last couple of chapters confused me and left way to many questions that reading the rest (to me) is a must. Well until I understand what the heck just happen. Though it took me a year to read I still really liked the first book of the Mortal Instrument series with its humor and interesting storyline. and though I don't when I'll get the next book but I well hopefully soon.

Reblogged from Book Hangovers:

I’m so ready to do this!

I participated in the 2013 reading challenge and did pretty well.

Setting a goal of 30 books and accomplishing that plus some with 42 books!

So I decided with this years goal to “up the ante” and

go with 50 books.

I’ll be updating my progress on goodreads, tumblr, and here as well.

On here I’ll probably name and post a picture of the book once I’ve completed reading it, tagging it 50 book challenge/2014 book challenge.

First up: I'm currently reading Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta, book 3 of The Lumatere Chronicles.

The final book of the series and the breaking of my heart :(

Happy Reading to all and A HAPPY NEW YEAR
